It's 4 am and I've already been awake for an hour... I thought by staying awake all 36 hours through my traveling, I could just go home to sleep and avoid the jet lag. I guess it didn't work...
Other than that it feels amazing to be home. I didn't realize how much I missed this place, before I got here. Everything has just been great so far from getting picked up in the airport Friday night to having my family and friends over yesterday.
The arrival in the airport was so cool. We were about 40 Danish exchange students going back on the same plane. I was one of the first to get a hold of my baggage and head out to the welcome area. It was packed! Everywhere you looked there were Danish flags, people waving banners, flowers, balloons. Just everything you could want. Some were even wearing shirts with pictures of their returning family member. All I wanted I found in the front row though. My best friends and little sisters were standing there with flags in their hair yelling my name. I got so excited I just ran over and hugged them.
It feels very natural to be home again and around my family but I can see that some things have changed. Mostly my little brother. I can't believe how big he has gotten. When I left, he was a toddler, now he has turned three and is a little boy. He has grown a couple of inches and uses sentences containing multiple clauses. He was a little shy at first, but not more than he still wants to play with me. I'm just happy he didn't forget me, when I was gone for that long!
The sun has already rose outside. I should probably try to sleep again. Goodnight!
